Per new allegations from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a source provided evidence indicating Maxwell is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for clemency.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for her and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was provided directions about instructing her contacts to contact and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that she told close associates in electronic messages that she was more content at the new prison than her former location.

This past summer, she was transferred from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

Through the statement, Raskin also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the president to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that the official attend a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to provide her with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a response to the questions by 24 November.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
