Intensive Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city experienced intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults follow nights of air raids in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
